Randy Travis has released a new vault song, "I Know Where I'd Be Without You," the latest preview of his upcoming album, "Same Old Way," arriving Nov. 13 through Warner Music Nashville.
The ballad is about gratitude. The narrator admits he once insisted he needed no one, until love changed him. Another verse reflects on pride, warning that it can cost a man the gifts God has given him, and the lyrics describe finding love as a glimpse of heaven. iHeartCountry's 94.9 The Bull described the song as dedicated to Travis' wife, Mary Travis.
"Same Old Way" is a 12-song collection of never-before-heard recordings made before Travis' 2013 stroke. It follows the singles "Fish On," "I Don't Care," "Set The Blues Back" and the title track. Vinyl preorders are open, with the first copies expected to ship in December. The album also arrives in the 40th anniversary year of his debut, "Storms of Life."
Some fans have searched online asking whether Travis has died. JubileeCast has found no credible reports of that. The new music comes from his vault, and Travis, 67, was involved in putting the album together, according to reports on the project.
Travis, who has recorded gospel music, including the compilation "Three Wooden Crosses: The Inspirational Hits of Randy Travis," has long been supported by his faith and family. Mary has said his faith anchored the family through his recovery after the near-fatal 2013 stroke.
