Christina Applegate is struggling emotionally after learning she was misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
The actress cried on the latest episode of her "MeSsy" podcast, saying the news left her shocked and lost instead of relieved.
What does she have, if not MS? That is still unknown. No new diagnosis has been announced, and Applegate says her symptoms have not gone away. She told co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler she is "back at square one," and that she still uses a wheelchair at doctor's visits because she cannot walk from the car to the exam room.
Applegate and Sigler became public faces for the MS community, and she said she feels she "let everybody down." She also spoke about the depression she went through after her original diagnosis.
Sigler, who has MS herself, told her that what she feels is real, even without the diagnosis attached to it.
Her medical team is working to find the cause of her symptoms. A doctor who joined the episode said misdiagnosis is possible, and MS has no single test, so diagnosis can take years.
Many readers of faith may pause to pray for Applegate, for Sigler, and for everyone waiting on answers about their health.
