Eric Bauza, the Emmy-winning voice actor behind Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, has died at 46. His family announced on Instagram that he "passed away suddenly," and he died Sunday at a home in Los Angeles County.

Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records list the cause of death as hypertensive cardiovascular disease. The department said the manner of death was natural.

Bauza took over as the modern voice of Bugs Bunny in 2018. He was the eighth actor to play the character. He also voiced Porky Pig, Tweety, Marvin the Martian, and Woody Woodpecker. He won three Children's and Family Emmys, including the first-ever award for outstanding voice performance in an animated program in 2022, and he is credited with 935 voice roles across 249 titles. His final big-screen work included this year's Coyote vs. Acme.

Warner Bros. Television Group Chairman Channing Dungey said Bauza "brought joy and laughter to millions around the world."

Bauza was born in Scarborough, Ontario, to Filipino immigrant parents. He once said that animation was about sharing its magic with his son. He is survived by his wife, Jessica, whom he married in 2016, and their son.

JubileeCast offers prayers for comfort and peace for Jessica, their young son, and everyone who loved him.
