Christian pop artist, songwriter, and producer Samuel Day is inviting listeners to embrace a life of faith, purpose, and adventure with his debut full-length album, Uncommon, released October 30 through NRT Music. The 16-track collection unfolds across three chapters, combining contemporary Christian pop, worship moments, and uplifting anthems that encourage listeners to pursue a life shaped by their faith.
Inspired by the belief that life is an adventure rooted in God's goodness, Day brings together songs about aspiration, worship, perseverance, and the courage to live differently. The album reflects his conviction that following God's direction can mean stepping beyond familiar expectations and choosing a path that may not always look like everyone else's.
Leading the project is the cinematic title track, "Uncommon," featuring J. L. Clodfelter. The song challenges listeners to move beyond simply getting by and consider whether they are living according to God's intended purpose. Accompanied by sweeping musical arrangements, it delivers a message about embracing one's convictions even when they set you apart.
The song's official performance video, filmed in the desert of Monahans, Texas, features cinematography by Neal Johnson. Its expansive visuals complement the track's adventurous spirit. An accompanying lyric video also brings the song's message to life.
Beyond the title track, Uncommon features several collaborations, including "Living Lovely" with Dominique Horsley, "The Unchanging" with Tahella, and "Stay" with Sarah Smith Clodfelter and J. L. Clodfelter. Nathan Abney also contributed to the project. Other songs, including "Beautiful Dream," "Kingdoms Are Watching," and "Warrior Spirit," showcase the album's musical variety, moving between contemporary pop and energetic anthems.
Several tracks have already gained recognition. "Through the Night" was PlayMPE's most-downloaded track overall during the week of December 21, 2025, and spent 18 weeks on CMW's CHR Radio Chart. "The Unchanging" reached No. 3 on the same chart, while "Stay" earned placements on Spotify's editorial playlists, including "All New Christian and Gospel" and "Christian Rising."
Originally from the Cincinnati area and now based in Fort Worth, Texas, Day has built his musical career through years of independent development. Beyond singing and songwriting, he has cultivated skills in production, filmmaking, and design, creating music and visual content for himself and other artists. His performance experience includes appearances at Bunbury, Sonfest, and Heinz Field's Champion's Club, as well as opening for Christian artist Colton Dixon.
The heart of Uncommon is rooted in the biblical message of John 10:10, where Jesus speaks of giving life abundantly, and Matthew 6:10, which expresses the prayer for God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
For Day, the album's message is also deeply personal. Having experienced hardship, he believes people can choose how they respond to the stories of their lives.
"I realized that we get to choose what kind of story our lives are," Day shares. "My life is an adventure, not a tragedy-even despite the tragic things I've been through."
With Uncommon, Samuel Day encourages listeners to embrace that same outlook, trust God's goodness, and pursue a life marked by faith and purpose.
The album is available now through major streaming and digital music platforms.
