Scott Riggan Reimagines Christmas Classic With Fresh, Joyful "O Holy Night" EP

Christian recording artist and worship pastor Scott Riggan is welcoming the Christmas season with a fresh interpretation of the beloved carol "O Holy Night." His new five-song EP, O Holy Night, arrives October 30 through NRT Music, combining an energetic new version of the Christmas classic with four previously released seasonal favorites from his musical catalog.

Rather than taking the traditional slow-ballad approach, Riggan gives "O Holy Night" an upbeat pop arrangement featuring chiming guitars, driving piano, soaring vocals, and layered harmonies. Produced alongside Jason Collum, the recording brings a celebratory sound to the timeless song while preserving its message about the wonder and significance of Christ's birth.

Riggan wanted his interpretation to capture the excitement and spiritual beauty of Christmas in a different way.

"I love this song, but I didn't want to make the version everyone has heard a hundred times," he shares. "There's something about the words of 'O Holy Night' that calls for wonder and celebration. I wanted the music to feel like that-to sound like Christmas has actually arrived."

The EP also includes "Bethlehem (Unplugged)," "Come To Us (O Little Town)" featuring Jaime Thietten, "Joy To The World," and "Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming." Together, the five tracks offer a blend of joyful celebration and quieter moments of reflection, drawing attention to the hope and beauty of the Christmas story.

The seasonal release follows Riggan's recent full-length album, Shepherds and Wolves, a deeply personal project exploring faith, grief, grace, and healing. While that album addresses life's difficult questions, O Holy Night shifts the focus toward the joy and hope found in the birth of Jesus.

A veteran independent Christian artist, songwriter, and worship pastor, Riggan has built a career spanning four continents. His accomplishments include a No. 1 Christian radio hit, multiple Top 20 singles, and recognition from the GMA Dove Awards and the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Now part of the NRT Music roster, he continues to create music rooted in faith, honest songwriting, and memorable melodies.

With O Holy Night, Riggan offers listeners a fresh soundtrack for the Christmas season, celebrating the arrival of Christ through familiar carols and a renewed musical perspective.

The five-song EP is available now on major digital streaming platforms.
