Halloween weekend could deliver an unexpected box-office winner: a documentary about Elizabeth Holmes. A24's You Can See Everything is projected to challenge-and potentially overtake-DC's Clayface for the North American crown over October 30-November 1, as competing forecasts point to a subdued weekend for cinemas.
The latest forecast from The Numbers puts You Can See Everything in first place with approximately $9.6 million, narrowly ahead of Clayface at $8.9 million. Box Office Theory's earlier projections favour the same outcome at higher totals, predicting $13 million for the documentary and $12.4 million for the comic-book horror film. These figures remain predictions rather than confirmed weekend earnings.
The documentary enters the contest with momentum. You Can See Everything outgrossed Clayface on Wednesday and Thursday and reached approximately $53.3 million domestically through Thursday. A24 is expanding its release from 2,655 to 3,243 cinemas, giving it additional opportunities to convert audience interest into ticket sales.
Halloween itself complicates the race. With the holiday falling on Saturday, cinemas face competition from parties and trick-or-treating during a normally important moviegoing period. The Numbers projects just $34.7 million combined for the top ten, warning that the overall market could record its weakest weekend since February 2024.
Behind the leading pair, Wildwood is expected to finish third. Box Office Theory projects $7.4 million for the animated feature, followed by Street Fighter with $5.2 million and Wicker with $3.5 million. Its forecast also places new release Christmas at the Kringles at approximately $2 million.
Faith-based audiences have another opening to watch: Sight & Sound Presents: JOSHUA Live! arrives in 1,230 cinemas. The Numbers does not currently expect the filmed stage production to reach the top ten, although its weekend performance remains to be reported.
For now, the central contest is unusually close. Both forecasts favour You Can See Everything, but neither gives it a commanding lead over Clayface. Halloween attendance will help determine whether the documentary's recent weekday advantage translates into its first weekend at No. 1.
