Vince Gill will headline an evening of music supporting communities in Honduras and Haiti when Mission Lazarus hosts Songs on a Mission on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at Nashville's Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
Featuring special guests Dean Dillon and Rodney Crowell, the benefit will celebrate the Christian nonprofit's 25th anniversary and raise support for its education, healthcare, economic development and spiritual development programs.
The black-tie-optional evening begins with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and the program at 7 p.m. Bryan Simpson, known as "Uncle B" from the Damned Ole Opry, will serve as emcee. Simpson has visited Honduras several times to work alongside the organization, giving him a personal connection to the communities the event supports.
For founder and president Jarrod Brown, the anniversary is an opportunity to acknowledge those who have sustained the ministry and introduce others to its continuing work. Brown credits the organization's progress to faith, relationships and practical service, and expressed gratitude to Gill, Dillon and Crowell for contributing their time and talent.
Since launching in 2017, Songs on a Mission has brought Nashville's music community into closer contact with Mission Lazarus' work. Previous participants have included Carrie Underwood, Sam Hunt, Dustin Lynch, Matthew West, Ashley Gorley, Zach Crowell, Matt Jenkins and JT Harding. Participating artists have donated their performances, helping make the gathering an important source of fundraising support.
Simpson's involvement extends beyond hosting the evening. Having served with Mission Lazarus in Honduras, he describes its work as deeply personal and sees the benefit as a way to connect an evening of music with service that continues throughout the year.
Mission Lazarus began in 2001, when Brown started building relationships with families in isolated mountain villages in southern Honduras. The ministry combined community development projects with sharing the Christian faith, later expanding into Haiti in 2011.
Today, its programs connect education, healthcare, economic opportunity and spiritual formation. According to the organization, its work has reached more than 150,000 people over 25 years, and its team now includes more than 175 staff members serving communities in Honduras and Haiti.
