Tommee Profitt Expands ‘The Birth of a King’ With Five New Songs for Live Deluxe Edition

Tommee Profitt is returning to the Christmas project he once thought was complete. The producer and composer has announced a new Live Deluxe Edition of The Birth of a King, featuring five additional songs filmed and recorded at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena last year.

Announcing the release on Instagram, Profitt told fans that the expanded edition arrives Friday. The announcement promises both audio and filmed performances, giving listeners a new opportunity to experience the Christmas production.

"This Christmas album will forever be my favorite project I've ever worked on," Profitt wrote. "I thought it was complete back in 2020... and I never thought I would add anything. But I'm thankful God showed me that there was more to explore!"

Originally released in 2020, The Birth of a King pairs familiar Christmas songs with Profitt's cinematic arrangements. The studio album features collaborations with artists including Crowder, Sarah Reeves, Tauren Wells, SVRCINA, Avril Lavigne, Jordan Smith, Kari Jobe and Chris Tomlin. Its selections include "O Holy Night," "What Child Is This?" and "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing."

The project subsequently became a live concert production. Profitt released The Birth of a King: Live in Concert in November 2023, featuring performances with guests including Colton Dixon, Hollyn, Danny Gokey, Vanessa Campagna, DOE and Evvie McKinney. That release documents an earlier chapter of the production, preceding the Bridgestone Arena recordings announced for the new deluxe edition.

The latest announcement follows the Christmas show's sold-out Bridgestone Arena debut in 2025. According to Profitt's official website, that performance drew more than 12,000 attendees. The production returns to the Nashville venue for two nights on December 12 and 13, 2026, with guest vocalists, an orchestra, a choir and a full band.

For Profitt, the five additions represent an unexpected continuation of a project that remains personally significant. His announcement does not name the new selections or their featured performers, but it makes clear that he has found more to say through the Christmas collection.
