Olivia Rodrigo is giving fans an early Christmas gift. The Grammy-winning singer will release her first original Christmas single, "Take Me Home (4 Christmas)," on Thursday, November 5, at 8 p.m. ET, accompanied by a music video featuring actress Cynthia Nixon and Saturday Night Live comedian Ben Marshall.
Rodrigo announced the release on Instagram, revealing artwork that shows her sitting on the floor in a red Santa hat and matching lipstick. The festive portrait introduces a seasonal turn for an artist whose songwriting has made heartbreak, longing and growing up central themes.
The new track reunites Rodrigo with longtime collaborator Dan Nigro and songwriter Amy Allen. The trio co-wrote the song, with Nigro handling production. Its November arrival also gives the single several weeks to find an audience before Christmas.
Collectors will have something to add to their wish lists, too. Limited-edition 7-inch vinyl and cassette editions are available to pre-order through Rodrigo's official store, with the vinyl also set to reach Target stores on November 6.
For Australian listeners, the announced release time translates to noon AEDT on Friday, November 6.
