Get ready for this - Magic Mike is back. No one expected that this dramedy film will turn into a franchise with a Broadway musical adaptation in the making. Magic Mike 2 is rumored to have its entire original cast in it, but cast members Matthew McConaughey may or may not reprised his role because his talent fee may not be afforded while Alex Pettyfer's attitude is one of the main concerns of the production in considering him. Channing Tatum said, "Obviously no one's deals are done, which is always kind of scary."
It is so tricky doing a sequel on Magic Mike because it was intended as a standalone film. Magic Mike 2 is rumored to be a "road trip movie" and Channing Tatum promise that it will "pack more heat" than the previous film. The rumored title of Magic Mike 2 is "Magic Mike 2: XXL" Tatum said that he wants the movie to have some sense of reality in it, but no "dark drama." He also added, "Without giving a lot away, we don't wanna make it a really serious, slice-of-life movie."
Steven Soderbergh, who produced that original Magic Mike together with Tatum, will not be directing its sequel. He is rumored to have retired in film making. Soderbergh will still be involved in the production of the film. Greg Jacobs, his partner, will be the one in charge. Soderbergh told GQ that "I want to be there, but I don't want to be the director. I want to be a part of it. I want to be in the band, but I just don't want to be the frontman this time."

Magic Mike Sequel is set for release in the United States on July 3rd 2015. Up until now, the movie is still in the works and we are hoping to hear something definite soon.
