People may not have taken the news seriously at first, but it is not a hoax: there is indeed going to be a Tetris movie currently in development. In fact, Tetris movie producer Larry Kasanoff assured fans and sceptics alike that it is definitely not just going to be all about shapes and lines and blocks-it is actually going to incorporate an actual storyline revolving around the currently popular science fiction genre.
The developers of the awaited Tetris movie are the same ones who were responsible for some Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon shows like "Bionicle: The Legend Reborn," "Rise of the Rookies" and the two equally popular Lego movies, "Lego: Atlantis" and "Lego: The Adventures of Clutch Powers." These same producers were also the ones behind other popular movies like the first two parts in the Mortal Kombat series.
In a Wall Street Journal report, Threshold Entertainment chief executive Larry Kasanoff revealed that the Tetris movie will be about the story behind the world of Tetris. However, that is so far as he is willing to divulge, as not even the release date, cast or even the date of start of production is revealed. He assured fans and those anticipating that the movie will actually be live-action and not mainly filled with animated graphics.
With this, Tetris will now officially be joining the long list of video games that have been or are being adapted into movies along with Assassin's Creed, Lara Croft, Resident Evil as well as Angry Birds (which fans may be expecting in 2016).
