Minecraft Pocket Edition Update for Windows Phone Users: Game Developers Confirmed Development of Minecraft for Windows Phone via Twitter

Windows Phone users have been waiting for their version of the Minecraft: Pocket Edition for a while now, but now, we have a solid release update on the matter.

The game's developer, Jens Bergensten, tweeted that the Windows Phone port for the game "runs already", confirming that the game "is coming to the Windows Phone", but that "there's still much to do before any release".

Tommaso Checchi, the game's PE developer, added that the Windows Phone port runs slow and requires more work. This means that the game's release for the Windows Phone will indeed take longer.

Bergensten also tweeted, "Let me clarify: With the help of MS, we've been working on a MC:PE Windows Phone port for a while, already before MS bought Mojang. Ok?"

Checchi tweeted, "And nobody forced/threatened us if you're wondering! Actually, we started before the whole Microsoft thing".

What they mean by MS or Microsoft here is that the game company 'Mojang' was recently bought by Microsoft, and there were speculations that the only reason the game is coming to Windows Phone is the buyout. They wanted to clarify, as in their Tweets, that they were already working on the game for the Windows Phone version even before the buyout.

Fortunately for other smartphone users, their versions of the game have been available, including the iOS, Android, and Amazon Fire phone users. Soon enough, PS Vita will also have its version of the game. Just you wait, Windows Phone users, we'll keep you posted for more Minecraft PE updates.
