Contemporary mixed-media artist Wayne Brezinka has revealed the artwork he created for the forthcoming album from Christian music pioneer Amy Grant. Known for his distinctive portrait style that blends painting, collage, and found materials, Brezinka says the new artwork visually reflects the themes of memory, faith, and personal history that have shaped Grant's remarkable career.

"I'm thrilled to share my latest work-album artwork for the one and only Amy Grant," Brezinka shared while unveiling the design. "Thank you for this beautiful opportunity."

The mixed-media collage portrait incorporates meaningful elements connected to Grant's life, creating a layered visual narrative. Among the fragments used in the artwork are pieces of a quilt Grant has long treasured, seashells from her personal collection, her childhood Bible, and an article about her grandfather. Each element was carefully assembled to form a portrait that not only resembles Grant but also tells the story behind the artist herself.

Brezinka's portrait technique centers on research and storytelling. Before beginning each work, he studies the life and legacy of his subject, often incorporating personal artifacts or symbolic materials into the final composition. The resulting portraits create what he describes as a "breadcrumb trail," inviting viewers to explore the deeper story embedded within the artwork.

Grant praised Brezinka's work, noting the depth and honesty reflected in his artistic approach and expressing appreciation for the thoughtful visual interpretation of her story.

Born in Minnesota in 1968, Brezinka now lives and works in Nashville, Tennessee. Before transitioning into a full-time fine art career, he built a reputation in graphic design, producing album packaging and visual concepts for numerous recording artists in the music industry.

His artwork has appeared in major publications including The Washington Post, The New York Times, and POLITICO Europe. Brezinka's work has also been recognized by the Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, American Illustration, Print Magazine, and 3x3: The Magazine of Contemporary Illustration.

Several of his portraits have been featured in prominent exhibitions. His portrait of Abraham Lincoln was displayed at Ford's Theatre and Museum, while his portrait of Bob Dylan was exhibited at the Tennessee State Museum.

Collectors of Brezinka's work include notable figures such as Al Gore and country music legend George Strait.

In addition to his artistic work, Brezinka leads workshops designed to help participants explore healing through creative expression. Drawing on his own experience of restoration through art, he has facilitated programs for combat veterans with PTSD, emergency medical professionals, transitioning foster youth, and social workers.

"Each fragment in my work represents what has built us, what sustains us, and what shapes us as we move forward," Brezinka explains in his artist statement. "We are many things-well-made, awkward, elegant, complicated. We are human."

The newly revealed artwork offers a glimpse into the thoughtful collaboration between the acclaimed artist and Amy Grant as anticipation builds for the singer's forthcoming album.
