Transformers 5 news, release date, plot spoilers: Michael Bay hints on major plot changes; still mum on whether he'll be directing the new movie, which will be out by 2016
Transformer 5 news: fans can expect a bigger and better Transformers movie when it hits the big screen in 2016.
According to Cinema Blend, Paramount "has promised sweeping changes for the Transformers franchise by the time Transformers 5 rolls into theaters."
The bar has been definitely set notches higher by Transformers: Age of Extinction, which starred Mark Wahlberg. The excellent casting boded well for the franchise.
Director Michael Bay has earlier hinted that the franchise will undergo changes after the old cast left [mainly Shia LaBeouf and Megax Fox].
"It's kind of like a new 'Transformers.' We had three, the first trilogy, and this is going to be the next one... I'm not necessarily sure that I'm doing [the others], but that's what it's meant for," Bay told Entertainment Weekly, according to Screenrant.com.
Whether Bay and Wahlberg will return to do Transformers 5 remains to be seen.
In an interview with USA Today, Bay hinted that he's ready to move on to other film genres.
"There's kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make," said Bay. "I have a lot of stories to tell. And it's about flexing new muscles."
Bay is said to be doing something close to his heart: a documentary on elephant poaching.
Other projects in the pipeline are a horror film, Ouija; a sci-fi thriller, Project Almanac; and a possible TV series.
Transformers 5 release date is set on June 24, 2016.
