Lisa Page Brooks To Record First Live Album
Gospel music's Lisa Page Brooks who is known for #1 radio hits such as 2010's "I Want To Say Thank You" is recording her first live album on Friday, October 23, 2015 @ 7:00 PM EST at The Christian Tabernacle Church in Detroit, MI. Bishop Michael Brooks, a founding member of the iconic '80s band, Commissioned, will produce this exciting evening of the ultimate soul music. The big night will feature a reunion of the groundbreaking gospel girl group that initially gave Brooks her national platform, Witness. "I couldn't think of a better special guest artist for the night," Lisa Page Brooks says. "The fun of getting together to do a medley and getting to see everybody again is going to be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to a great time."
For three decades, Brooks' mesmerizing voice has reigned as one of gospel music's most dynamic and beloved instruments. Her animated concerts have been heralded as church-wrecking and roof-raising experiences so a live project is overdue. "We decided to do a live recording because my live performances often take on a deeper dimension than what we capture in the studio," Brooks adds. The new set of refreshed classics and original songs will mark Brooks' first new album project since 2013's Top 20 hit "Ready."
The daughter of Motown Records singing star Charles Warren Harris of the '60s era R&B group The Monitors, Brooks decided to follow the gospel path to fame. She was a founding member of the '80s contemporary quartet Witness that created gospel hits such as "Clap Your Hands" and "Standard." Brooks launched a solo career in the 1990s and has enjoyed radio hits like "God is Good," "Waiting" and "I Want To Say Thank You."
The live session takes place Friday, October 23, 2015 @7:00 PM at Christian Tabernacle Church, 26555 Franklin Road, Southfield, MI 48033. General admission tickets are $25 and VIP seats are $40. Call (248) 885-8004 or email lisalivetickets@gmail.com for info.
