Coldplay Frontman Chris Martin and Wife Gwyneth Paltrow Announce Separation Publicly, Read Their Statement Here
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and wife, actress, Gwyneth Paltrow, have officially announced that they will be separating after 10 years of marriage. Chris and Gwyneth married on December 5, 2003 and have two children together, Apple, 9, and Moses, 7.
They announced their separation on Tuesday in a post on Paltrow's GOOP site titled "Conscious Uncoupling."
Here is the full statement below:
"It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate." "We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been. We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time. We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner. Love Gweyneth & Chris"
Gweyneth Paltrow is an award winning actress with wins such as "Best Actress" Award for her work in Shakespeare in Love at the 1998 Academy Awards and Golden Globe Awards. She also won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2011 for "Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series" on "Glee".
Chris Martin helped form Coldplay in London in 1996. Since then, Coldplay has become one of the biggest bands in the world over the last 10 years and have racked up several awards including seven Grammy Awards, four Billboard Music Awards and five MTV Video Music Awards.
