Watch Carrie Underwood Sing "Softly and Tenderly" at the 51st Annual Country Music Association Awards
Country music superstar Carrie Underwood gave a stirring and prayerful rendition of the hymn "Softly and Tenderly" at the 51st Annual Country Music Association Awards on Wednesday night (Nov. 8).
The performance was part of the show's "In Memoriam" video tribute which paid homage to several of the legendary performers who had passed away this year. They include Glen Campbell, Don Williams, Troy Gentry of Montgomery Gentry and former CMA executive director Jo Walker-Meador.
In addition to performing, Underwood also served as one of the evening's two hosts, along with fellow country star Brad Paisley. This marks the 10th consecutive year of the duo co-hosting the event.
