Update on Danielle Spencer's Emergency Brain Surgery
Dr. Danielle Spencer, better known as 'Dee' the former child star of 70s ABC sitcom classic "What's Happening!!" has had emergency Brain Surgery on bleeding hematoma. Dr. Danielle played the character "Dee" who was the personification of the typical annoying bratty little sister centered around teenagers and their antics while growing up in the inner city of Los Angeles, California. The role of "Dee Thomas," became an American household name and her character was most notably known for her wisecracking banter.
The surgery was a success and she must now heal and recover. As of today it is not known how long she will be in recovery because of her previous bout with cancer and spinal injury.
Currently Danielle is recovering at home with the assistance of home health care aides daily who are currently focusing on physical and occupational therapy for some memory loss and to teach her how to walk again. If therapy with the home health aides does not result in sufficient progress, she will be admitted to a rehabilitation facility for care.
"Danielle is overwhelmed by all of the love and support she has received from her family, friends and media outlets. She greatly appreciates the "What's Happening!!" friends and supporters who have held her down through it all!"
Funds set up from the "Friends of Danielle" Go Fund Me page will assist with these associated costs and help her sustain the continued care that is much needed."
