Tension Between Google And Samsung: Google Angry At Samsung For Implementing Tizen Instead Of Android Wear In Their Smart-watches

It seems that Google and Samsung are getting more feuds and they seem to be getting worse with time. The strained relationship between the two companies has spilled over android customization spreading to the wearable world. It seems that Google wants Samsung to put more focus on Android Wear rather than Tizen. According to "The Information" the two tech companies were at odds at the recent Allen & Co. meeting of tech and media industry luminaries held in Sun Valley, LA.

Google's CEO Larry Page is said to have told Samsung vice Chairman Jay Y. Lee of his displeasure at Samsung's current approach to smart watches. This was said in a much tensed private meeting.

Google is concerned that Samsung who are their largest licensee, are undermining their Android Wear platform by focusing only on Samsung's own Tizen OS. Android Wear smart watch devices were launched at Google I/O recently which were provided by Samsung however, the Samsung Gear live were essentially a version of the Tizen powered Samsung Gear 2 that were made to run on Android Wear.

Now, three of Samsung's smart watches run on Tizen though the first one the "Samsung Galaxy Gear" used to run on Android but it was later converted to Tizen. Google now wants Samsung to focus more on Android Wear but it seems though like Samsung wants to run with their own Tizen and inaugurate their own platform.

Neither of the two companies has confirmed the disagreement though even if Google quarrels with Samsung, Samsung still has leverage in which they are responsible for around two thirds of all Android devices sold.
