Author Barry Meguiar Shares How We Can Use Everyday Encounters to Move People Closer to Jesus

While a majority of Americans still claim to be Christians, very few actually live out the biblical mandate to share their faith. Author and businessman Barry Meguiar writes that doing so will ignite your hearts with purpose and fill your life with joy in his new book "Ignite Your Life: Defeat Fear with Effortless Faith," due out from Charisma House publishers Feb. 7.   

"Here are some exciting facts: Over 80% of the unchurched know the world is out of control, are hoping there's a God who can end the chaos, are looking for someone to tell them and already have at least one Christian in their life that they trust," said Meguiar. "We could ignite revival in America in 30 days if we ourselves were ignited.  That's why I'm writing this book!"   
 
Meguiar explains that American Christians memorize scriptures, believe them to be true, quote them often, sing about them and include them in their prayers, but then fail to apply them to their own lives. He asks why almost every American Christian says they trust God with their whole heart, yet 75% still live in fear, according to recent studies.   

Meguiar contends that Satan is using fear as a weapon to sterilize Christians today on a mass basis, making it impossible for them to reproduce themselves. Fear is the opposite of faith, he says, but he has good news to share. "There is a way to effortlessly achieve unwavering, wholehearted faith...and it will Ignite Your Life!"   

The key scripture, Meguiar teaches, is found in Romans 8:28, where God promises to make everything in your life work for good when you love Him and live your life for His purpose, which is to seek and save the lost - to move everyone, every day closer to Jesus.  "It begins by simply letting everyone know, without making it an issue, that you're a Christian," Meguiar said, "and then allowing them to feel God's love flowing through you.     

"Actions don't speak louder than your words, but when your actions match your words, your words have power no matter how you say them," Meguiar adds.  "When people see God flowing through you, they want what you have - and you'll be shocked at how easy it is to share your faith.  This is what the Great Commission is all about!"  

Throughout the book, Meguiar shares practical examples of these steps in action, showing how a simple offer to pray for someone often leads to that person coming to faith. So many business associates, who at first were not open to biblical conversations, eventually reached out to Meguiar when they received bad news and knew they needed God in their life.   

And the end result is joy, Meguiar concludes: "Living like this, knowing that you're in the game and that God is using you to draw people to Himself, brings purpose to everything you do - including your prayer life and Bible study."
