Double Release: Tasha Cobbs Leonard's Debut Book and Single Arrive This Week
Tasha Cobbs Leonard's new book Do It Anyway: Don't Give Up Before It Gets Good is available tomorrow (May 7). She will also release a single of the same title this coming Friday (May 10). You can order the book HERE.
From Googling how to upload an album to iTunes to later releasing a Billboard Top 10 album, from suffering a heartbreaking miscarriage to bringing home her baby boy, from depression so heavy it held her in bed to mentoring others in finding purpose and joy, Tasha has seen God meet her after every step of faith.
In her revelatory debut book, Tasha shares the transformative power of showing up to hard things with resilient faith and perseverance.
Tasha has shared pieces of her journey but never with as much depth and vulnerability as now. She shares never-before-told stories and inspires us to live a bolder life with the promise that it will always be worth it on the other side.
Because waiting on the other side of that decision is our breakthrough and transformation.
Through the years, the iconic gospel singer has experienced numerous challenges, including infertility, weight challenges, grief and debilitating depression.
"Ten years ago, my family and I, and several artists, travelled back home from Nashville, Tennessee, having celebrated the Stella Awards, gospel's biggest night," said Cobbs Leonard. "As we were travelling, I got a phone call. I found out that my father had suffered a heart attack and had transitioned to be with the Lord."
Days prior to that, Tasha says her dad told her he'd be with her at the Stella Awards in Nashville, which he was. A week later, she was up for a Grammy in Los Angeles, but her father laughed and told her he wouldn't be there.
"I thought maybe he was just saying, I'm not leaving my hometown, I'm not leaving the church, not two times in a row, but what he was really saying, is 'Tasha, you're going to be going through a really, really challenging season, and one of the last lessons I want to leave with you, is that when it gets hard. When you're facing resistance. When you don't understand. I want you to dig deep into your faith and do it anyway," said Tasha. "That was his last lesson to me."
