Asus Hides Its Tablet's External Features: Asus Specifically Requests The FCC Not To Make Public External Photos Of Their New Tablet

The FCC is a great opportunity for you to check out some of the features of some devices including smartphones and tablets. It either offers a few photos of the new phone or tablet or gives us some specifications or a model number. It seems like Asus is getting smart with their FCC testing. We know this from Asus' latest filing for a new tablet, which has a model number K007, whose confidentiality was requested. It said; "withhold the following attachments as confidential document from public disclosure indefinitely.-Schematic diagram, Block Diagram, Parts list, Operational Description" they also requested a 180 day hold on their external photos, user's manual and test setup photos. Asus was aware that we would go to check in the FCC filing lists and they had the photos and also diagrams withheld from the public eye, which did not leave the Bluetooth certification report, which has enough information to get the gist of the K007 device.

The Bluetooth Test Report from the FCC reads out the specifications, the hardware details that we love to hear and see improvements in. The K007 comes to us as a surprise, a nice one at that. It will have an Intel Atom (Z3560) processor which is not only quad-core running at 1.8 GHz, but also 64-bit. The new processors were built with Android in mind, and since it is anticipated that Android is likely to go 64 bit by next year, then this will be the best processor to go for. The other specifications are also very pleasant. It will have a battery capacity of 15Ah. The battery is more likely to be a 15Wh (watt-hour) which gives us roughly 3,948mAh battery for this tablet. Next, there is eMMC, the storage size of this device, which may come in both a 16GB and 32 GB variant which will depend on the test readout. The panel for the screen is a JDI (Japan Display Incorporated), so the panel will certainly be an LCD technology over AMOLED.

It is quite evident that Asus really wants to keep the device's look a secret, but is willing to share the internals of the device.
