Q: For listeners who may be discovering G.L.O God's Love Only for the first time, how would you describe who you are as an artist and how your faith shapes the way you create music?
I'm a Christian rapper and singer-songwriter with over 20yrs of ministry experiences. Many say my music is impactful, fun and animated, yet grounded in the Scripture. My faith influences my creative processes because I love writing about who Christ is. Throughout my faith journey, I've witnessed God's movement in countless ways, and my songs reflect those encounters, and are reminders to keep the faith through the good times as well as in the trials and tribulations.
Q: "We Trusting Jesus" blends tribal African percussion with electric guitar and a driving CHR rhythm. How intentional were you about using sound and rhythm to reinforce the spiritual urgency of the message?
I was very intentional in picking sounds that capture the listeners attention as I do in my lyrics. Music resonates and helps deliver the importance behind the message. Spiritually the African percussion used in "We Trusting Jesus" was to emphasize a strong warrior who's bold, fearless and unstoppable because God is on our side.
Q: Lines like "Ain't jumpin' out the boat" and "Born for such a time as this" feel bold and declarative. Why do you think it's important for believers to speak faith with confidence, especially during difficult times?
It's important to speak faith with confidence because this is what we're called to do, proclaiming our faith in front of this lost and dying world . People are searching for the answer and we hold the answer in our hearts, the Lord has equipped us with His Word and Spirit to pour out and be His representatives anywhere He sends us. Everyone goes through seasons in life and no one likes to go through alone. What better than to share with them the One who will never leave nor forsake.
Q: Your music consistently emphasizes identity, resilience, and trust in Jesus. How do you hope listeners carry this song into their everyday lives beyond just the moment they hear it?
I hope listeners carry this song in their everyday lives because trusting in Jesus is what we're called to do. I pray they see the areas that they lack in their trust and pray to God for healing, strength and deliverance that might've caused this distrust to occur. We all have a story and sometimes trust can be hard even in trusting God but it's only when we let go and let God that we will experience a deeper relationship with Him and others, as well as grow in our faith.
Q: Looking ahead, what can you share about what you're working on next? Can listeners expect more new music from you in 2026, and how is this current season shaping what's coming?
Currently in 2026 I have a new single that will be released in February as well as other songs to be released throughout this year. Right now I'm excited about being involved in a prison ministry and a Homeless shelter where I'm looking forward to returning in the upcoming months. I must say though I feel like I'm in a building process anticipating what's ahead yet not knowing what God has in store for me but I'm trusting Him throughout the process.
