As previously reported in our coverage of the America Reads the Bible 2026 event in Washington, D.C., more than 475 leaders from across the country will gather this April for a historic, week-long public reading of Scripture. Now, one of the most recognizable voices in faith-based entertainment is stepping into a leading role.
Candace Cameron Bure has been named the official spokesperson for America Reads the Bible, the nationwide initiative taking place April 19-25 at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C.
The event will feature Hollywood actors, ministry leaders, and members of Congress reading the Bible aloud from Genesis to Revelation over seven consecutive days. But organizers say Bure's involvement represents more than celebrity participation - it reflects a trusted voice helping frame the movement's spiritual focus.
Great American Media CEO Bill Abbott described Bure as a longstanding advocate for faith and family values, making her a natural choice to help represent the initiative publicly.
"We're honored to have her serve as a top spokesperson for America Reads the Bible," Abbott said, calling the gathering a meaningful reminder of the nation's spiritual foundations.
For Bure, whose career has consistently highlighted Christian values in entertainment, the role aligns closely with her public mission. As America approaches its 250th anniversary, America Reads the Bible seeks to encourage daily engagement with Scripture as a source of renewal and unity.
The week will begin with a kickoff ceremony on April 18, livestreamed on Great American Pure Flix, followed by seven days of continuous Bible reading featuring voices from every sphere of influence.
In a cultural moment often marked by division, Bure's leadership role underscores the event's central message: returning to God's Word as a foundation for families, communities, and the nation itself.
