The voices behind Netflix's global phenomenon KPop Demon Hunters brought cinematic pop energy to the 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards, delivering a standout live performance of their hit anthem "Golden."

EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI - the singers behind fictional K-pop group HUNTR/X - performed together outside the United States for the first time on Sunday night (February 22) at London's Royal Festival Hall. Introduced by host Alan Cumming, the trio transformed the BAFTA stage into a vibrant spectacle inspired by the film's bold, action-packed aesthetic.

A Breakout Song Goes Global

"Golden" has become one of the most decorated soundtrack songs of the awards season. The track won Best Song at the Golden Globes, secured the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media, and is currently nominated for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards.

Although KPop Demon Hunters was not eligible for BAFTA awards due to theatrical release rules, its impact was unmistakable. The film became Netflix's most-watched movie of 2025, turning "Golden" into a global anthem that transcended the screen.

Sunday's performance marked a significant milestone for the trio, further expanding their international reach. They are also set to perform at the upcoming BRIT Awards, becoming the first K-pop artists ever to take that stage.

Music Takes Center Stage at the BAFTAs

The ceremony also featured British singer-songwriter Jessie Ware, who delivered a moving performance during the In Memoriam tribute. Her rendition of "The Way We Were" provided a reflective contrast to the high-energy celebration of "Golden," underscoring music's unique ability to both energize and comfort.

The inclusion of major musical performances at the BAFTAs highlighted how soundtrack hits are increasingly shaping film culture. Songs like "Golden" do more than support a story - they carry its themes of courage, identity, and perseverance into the global mainstream.

In a year dominated by major cinematic achievements, the BAFTAs proved that music remains one of the most powerful storytelling forces in film - capable of igniting a stage, uniting audiences, and leaving a lasting cultural imprint.
