Worship leader and songwriter Alexander Pappas has released his latest single, "It Is So Sweet," featuring Chelsea Plank of SEU Worship. The new track serves as the third single from Pappas' upcoming EP SUNDAY, offering a glimpse into a project centered on songs intentionally written for congregational worship.

With this release, Pappas reflects a meaningful shift in his songwriting focus-from what he describes as "Monday music," songs written for everyday listening, toward "Sunday music," crafted specifically for the gathered church. "It Is So Sweet" embodies that vision, delivering a worshipful declaration rooted in the promise of God's peace and the stability found in walking closely with Jesus.

The song's message draws on the timeless theme of trust in Christ, even incorporating a brief closing tag from the beloved hymn "'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus." By blending the familiar hymn refrain with a fresh, modern worship sound, the track bridges generations of worshippers and reinforces the enduring message of faith and dependence on God.

Joining Pappas on the song is Chelsea Plank, a worship leader and songwriter with SEU Worship, the influential collective connected with Southeastern University. In recent weeks the campus has seen a significant spiritual awakening among students, making the collaboration especially meaningful as the song emphasizes peace, trust, and spiritual renewal.

"Perfect peace is something so sought after, so seldom discovered, and yet so easy to find," Pappas shares. "Choosing to take our steps with Jesus-whether a sprint, walk, or crawl-is the path to that peace."

The message of the song arrives at a moment when many believers feel pressure and uncertainty. Rather than presenting peace as the absence of trouble, "It Is So Sweet" highlights the deeper stability that comes from trusting God even in the midst of life's turbulence.

Pappas says the song reflects the broader vision behind his forthcoming EP. "This song follows the theme of the whole EP. I pray that it builds faith on Sunday and becomes a weapon Monday through Saturday when fears and burdens pile up. I hope people lean into the promises in these lyrics and find the sweet rhythm of walking with Jesus."

"It Is So Sweet" follows Pappas' January 2026 single "Hands Up" and continues the momentum from his 2025 release "Everything With Breath." Both songs will appear on the upcoming EP SUNDAY, which will further explore worship themes designed for congregational singing and spiritual encouragement.

Known globally as a founding member of Hillsong Young & Free, Pappas has helped shape modern worship music for the global church. He is credited as a writer on several widely sung worship songs including "Alive," "Wake," "Real Love," and "Echo," recorded by Elevation Worship. Through his solo work, he continues to write songs aimed at strengthening the faith of believers and equipping the church with new worship expressions.

As anticipation builds for the April release of SUNDAY, Pappas is also scheduled to perform on the Faith & Friends series during Lent on Fox & Friends on March 22. The appearance will highlight both the new single and the upcoming project.
