NASHVILLE, TN (May 12, 2026) - Christian artist Petrina Pacheco has released her powerful new single "Day of Pentecost" to Christian radio. Written by Petrina Pacheco and produced by Chris Springer, the song delivers a passionate cry for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit, inspired by the miraculous events recorded in the Book of Acts.
Born and raised in the small town of Kiln, Mississippi, Petrina Pacheco's journey to faith and ministry has been marked by both heartbreak and redemption. Raised in church by parents who recently celebrated 57 years of marriage, she grew up with strong values and faith-filled examples in her home. Yet like many, Petrina eventually drifted away from God while searching for fulfillment in the world around her. After enduring years in a deeply toxic and abusive relationship, she found herself battling emotional wounds, addiction, and hopelessness.
Everything changed at the age of 33 when she walked into a church service and encountered the transforming power of God. Petrina says that moment completely changed the direction of her life. Freed from addiction and restored through faith, she discovered the peace and joy she had searched for for years. Today, alongside her husband James, she helps lead outreach ministries focused on reaching the broken, addicted, and lost with the hope of Jesus Christ.
That testimony of transformation flows naturally into the heart behind "Day of Pentecost," a song Petrina says came to her in a vivid dream years ago. In the dream, she stood on a stage singing before a large crowd when a dense cloud-like haze moved through the room as people worshipped together singing, "Holy Spirit fall in here like You did back then on the day of Pentecost." As the atmosphere shifted, people began weeping, falling to their knees, and crying out to God as though they were personally encountering the Holy Spirit in a tangible way.
The experience stayed with her long after she woke up.
"I instantly thought to myself, I'd love to have a Day of Pentecost experience like we read about in the book of Acts," Petrina shares. "So I wrote the lyrics down and recorded the melody that I heard in the dream. I thought maybe if we all sing it together as believers and ask God for it, then maybe we'll have one."
That sense of expectation pulses throughout the song's lyrics as Petrina boldly sings, "God come place the fire upon our heads, we want to experience what we've read," and later declares, "God we expect You to come rushing in and hear the sound of a mighty wind." The chorus becomes both prayer and proclamation: "Holy Spirit fall in here like You did back then on the day of Pentecost."
With its worshipful atmosphere and heartfelt delivery, "Day of Pentecost" invites listeners into a moment of hunger, unity, and spiritual surrender. Rather than simply revisiting a biblical story, the song challenges believers to believe God still moves with power today.
As Petrina continues sharing her testimony and music ministry, "Day of Pentecost" stands as both a personal testimony and a heartfelt invitation for listeners everywhere to seek a deeper encounter with God and to boldly pray once again, "Let Your fire fall."
