Big Daddy Weave just made their summer plans official - and they brought a friend.
The beloved Christian band announced on social media this week that breakout worship artist Megan Woods will be joining them on the road for their summer run of the Let It Begin Tour. "We are SO excited to have Megan Woods joining us this summer," the band wrote on Facebook. "Her heart for worship and her songs have been impacting so many people already, and we know these nights are going to be special."
The pairing is a natural one. Woods burst onto the Christian music scene with her debut single "The Truth" - one of the largest debut single launches in Christian music in the past three years, hitting No. 1 on the iTunes Christian chart in 24 countries. Her own words about the song capture exactly why she fits alongside Big Daddy Weave's message: "The Truth is my life story and testimony in a song. I wanted to write a song that's a reminder for people every day of who they are in Jesus. We don't belong to the lies, we belong to God - that's the truth."
Big Daddy Weave, for their part, knows something about arriving at a song from a hard place. Frontman Mike Weaver has been candid about how close he came to walking away from music altogether in recent years, sharing that just months ago he felt like God gave him a brand-new heart. That kind of testimony - raw, honest, hard-won - is exactly what the Let It Begin Tour is built on.
"We feel like a revival has happened in our hearts," Weaver has said of this season. "We're really excited to share all of that with everybody on these nights. It's wonderful to have Megan Woods back with us and her amazing new music."
Audiences can expect an evening that moves between worship and testimony, with Big Daddy Weave anchoring a set that spans decades of anthems - from "Redeemed" to "God Is In This Story" to the healing-soaked title cut of their latest album. Woods steps into that space as a voice who has clearly already connected with the same audience: people looking for music that tells the truth about struggle and the God who meets you in it.
The Let It Begin Tour continues across the U.S. this summer. Full dates and tickets are available at bigdaddyweave.com.
