Jason Crabb just made one of the most personal releases of his career.
The two-time Grammy Award-winning artist dropped a new recording of "Through The Fire" this past Friday, May 22 - but this version is different from any before it. Crabb recorded the new single alongside his daughter, Ashley Crabb Brown, bringing the next generation of his family's legacy directly into one of Southern gospel's most beloved songs.
In his own words on social media, Crabb called it something he will never forget: "Getting to share 'Through The Fire' with my daughter, Ashleigh, is something I'll never forget. There's nothing like watching the next generation carry the same faith, the same message, and the same heart for God."
The Song That Started It All
The original "Through The Fire" was written by Jason's father, Gerald Crabb, and first released in 2000. That version earned multiple GMA Dove Awards, a BMI Award, was featured on two Grammy Award-winning albums, and reached number one on the Southern gospel radio charts. It has remained one of the most-requested songs in the genre for over two decades.
This new recording honors that legacy while passing it forward - a father and daughter, a grandfather's song, three generations of faith on one track.
What Is Coming Next
The new single serves as the announcement for Jason Crabb's upcoming album, also titled Through The Fire, set for release on July 17, 2026. The full project will feature a collection of Crabb Family hits and Southern gospel favorites, with Jason singing alongside a host of prominent Christian and Southern gospel voices. The new version of the title track was co-produced by Jason Crabb and Grammy Award-winning producer Jay DeMarcus.
Crabb is a two-time Grammy Award-winner and 22-time GMA Dove Award winner, currently signed to Red Street Records. His prayer for this song, as he shared with fans: that it reminds every listener they are not alone - because God is faithful in every season.
"Through The Fire" is available now on all major streaming platforms.
