When we last checked in on Evelyn Cormier in March, she had just signed with BEC Recordings and her debut label single "Like Me Better" had crossed 1.5 million streams. A lot has happened since then - and the biggest news is still unfolding right now.

Last Thanksgiving, Cormier shared some of the most joyful news of her life on Instagram. She and her husband Nick Vogt are expecting their first child together, with baby Vogt due to arrive in May 2026.

She announced it exactly the way you would expect from her - honest, warm, and full of gratitude. "Happy Thanksgiving from the Vogt family of three," she wrote, holding up a sonogram alongside Nick. "There are so many things to be thankful for this year, but our biggest and tiniest blessing won't be here until May 2026. Nick and I are incredibly excited to meet baby Vogt."

The couple married in 2024 after Cormier met Vogt - a connection that started, fittingly, through her music. The New Hampshire singer-songwriter, who began singing in church at age 10 and writing songs by 13, has never separated her faith from her story. That thread runs straight through this chapter too.

On March 27, right in the middle of this season of waiting and expecting, Cormier released her second BEC Recordings single - "Leaning on Jesus." The title alone says something.

For an artist who has navigated a very public journey through a difficult first marriage, years of independent work, a season on American Idol where Katy Perry called her voice one of the best she had ever heard, and now a new chapter of love, music, and motherhood - leaning on Jesus is not a lyric. It is a life practice.

She also released "Stay Close" on BEC earlier this year, continuing to build what is shaping up to be a significant first label season. Three singles in under five months, a baby on the way, and a farmhouse in New Hampshire being restored alongside her husband - Evelyn Cormier is living the kind of story her music has always been pointing toward.

The JubileeCast community has been with her since the Idol days. This is a good season to keep watching.
