Fans watching Harry Styles perform at Wembley Stadium on Friday night got a frightening few seconds - but the singer himself, and thousands of people who were actually there, quickly put the worry to rest.
During his Wembley Stadium performance on June 26, Styles attempted his now-famous "whale" water spit move - where he sprays a mouthful of water into the air for the crowd - when he accidentally choked and fell to the floor, struggling to catch his breath.
He remained on the floor for several seconds, coughing, before sitting back up, getting back to his feet, and continuing the show.
Videos went viral instantly - but people who were actually in the stadium told a very different story than the panic spreading online.
"He choked on water and laid down. We laughed with him," one Wembley attendee wrote in the comments of a widely shared TikTok. Another concertgoer confirmed simply: "I was there, he was fine."
Styles himself settled it directly, telling the crowd afterward: "It just went down the wrong hole, it's okay, I'm okay, thank you so much," before running back out onto the stage.
The moment happened during one of the hottest weeks the UK has seen this year, with London temperatures reaching 37.5°C and Wembley Stadium packed with tens of thousands of fans in the extreme heat.
Styles had already paused earlier in his residency to urge the crowd to look after each other: "We're going to look after each other, please try and stay hydrated."
That "Treat People With Kindness" spirit showed up again in the most human way possible on Friday - a pop star choked on water, laid down, laughed it off with 80,000 people, and got back up.
He's okay. The show went on. Nothing to see here - except maybe the most relatable thing Harry Styles has ever done on a stage.
