bodie doesn't do halfway. His new single "Go for Broke" - out now on all streaming platforms - makes that clearer than ever.
Released June 27, the New Music Friday drop arrived with a caption from the artist that read less like a press release and more like a confession: "for what it's worth, here's everything - kuz im not hiding anything." Standing in a music video filmed in front of a building with those exact words spray-painted in giant red letters behind him, bodie meant every word.
The lyrics he shared alongside the release say the rest: "i will give u all of me. whatever it costs, im spending it all. u can have all the glory its yours. im going for broke. face down on the floor."
Face down on the floor. That's the image. Not hands raised in triumphant worship, but full prostration - the kind of surrender that costs something. The kind that happens when you've decided, finally and completely, that God can have it all.
It's a significant moment in bodie's still-young recording career. The Voice Season 22 finalist - real name Bodie Kuljian - broke through with "Whisper and the Wind," which landed in Billboard's Top 10 and earned over 23 million global streams, followed by "RIP," nominated for two Dove Awards. Growing up in Los Angeles surrounded by artistic influences, bodie has built his sound at the intersection of rock, hip-hop, and raw faith-driven storytelling - music that reflects his experiences with honesty and authenticity.
"Go for Broke" feels like the natural next step for an artist who has always worn his faith on the outside. The title itself carries a double meaning - to go for broke is to risk everything, to hold nothing back. In bodie's hands, it becomes an act of worship.
"Go for Broke" is out now on all major streaming platforms.
