What happens when the man who plays Jesus jumps out of an airplane, Judas eats a scorpion, and The Chosen creator Dallas Jenkins trades a film set for the wilderness? Prime Video has finally given fans a thrilling first look-and it looks unlike anything the global faith phenomenon has done before.
Prime Video has released the official trailer for The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls, an all-new unscripted adventure series that pairs the stars of The Chosen with legendary survival expert Bear Grylls for six unforgettable journeys through some of America's most unforgiving landscapes.

The newly released footage shows Jonathan Roumie, Paras Patel, Elizabeth Tabish, Noah James, Luke Dimyan, and creator Dallas Jenkins leaving behind biblical costumes and studio lights to face towering cliffs, roaring rivers, remote deserts, and adrenaline-pumping challenges. From leaping out of airplanes and ziplining across canyons to scaling cliffs and even eating scorpions, the cast is pushed far beyond their comfort zones.
But this isn't just another celebrity survival show.
Throughout each expedition, Grylls-whose Christian faith has long been central to his life and public ministry-uses the demanding environment to spark candid conversations about faith, fear, purpose, and the personal journeys that have shaped the actors behind one of the world's biggest faith-based television series.
Known globally for Man vs. Wild and Running Wild with Bear Grylls, Grylls has also become a respected Christian author through books such as Soul Fuel and The Greatest Story Ever Told, making him a fitting guide for a series that blends adventure with spiritual reflection.
The six-episode series was filmed across breathtaking locations including Utah's Castle Valley and Canyonlands, the Colorado River, the Great Basin Desert, the Ausable River, and New York's Adirondack Forest. Every episode will be available to stream on August 9 when the series launches simultaneously on Prime Video across the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, the United Kingdom, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
The project also marks another major milestone in the expanding partnership between Amazon MGM Studios and 5&2 Studios. Their multi-year agreement not only brings the first five seasons of The Chosen to Prime Video but also includes future projects such as The Chosen Adventures, Joseph of Egypt, and the final two seasons of The Chosen, which will depict Christ's Crucifixion and Resurrection.
For longtime fans, The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls offers something they have never seen before: the people behind the beloved biblical drama stripped of their costumes, tested by nature, and opening up about the faith that sustains them when the cameras stop rolling.
If the trailer is any indication, viewers should expect breathtaking scenery, heart-racing adventure, and deeply personal conversations that reveal a whole new side of the cast who have brought the Gospel story to millions around the world.
