A decade after releasing one of Christian music's most personal albums, Hillary Scott is taking a heartfelt trip down memory lane.
The Lady A star marked the 10th anniversary of Love Remains this week with an emotional message to fans, reflecting on the faith-filled family project that became far bigger than anyone expected.

Released on July 29, 2016, Love Remains united Hillary Scott with her father Lang Scott, mother Linda Davis, and younger sister Rylee Scott under the name The Scott Family. Produced by bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs, the album blended gospel, country, bluegrass, and contemporary Christian music into a deeply personal collection that resonated with listeners around the world.
But behind the Grammy-winning success was a heartbreaking story.
The project traces its origins to the death of Hillary's grandfather, W.M. Scott Jr., in 2011. As the family grieved, they found comfort singing traditional hymns together. What began as private recordings intended only for relatives and close friends gradually evolved into a full-length album celebrating faith, hope, and God's faithfulness through life's darkest moments.
The emotional centrepiece of the record was undoubtedly "Thy Will." Hillary co-wrote the song after suffering a miscarriage in 2015 while touring with Lady A. The raw, vulnerable ballad captured the struggle of trusting God through unimaginable loss and quickly became an anthem for countless listeners facing grief, disappointment, and unanswered prayers.

Love Remains debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, reached No. 1 on Billboard's Christian Albums chart, and climbed to No. 2 on the Country Albums chart, proving the crossover appeal of its heartfelt message. The lead single, "Thy Will," topped the Hot Christian Songs chart and even crossed into the country charts.
The album's impact extended well beyond commercial success.
At the 59th Grammy Awards, Love Remains captured Best Contemporary Christian Music Album, while "Thy Will" earned Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song, cementing the record as one of the defining Christian releases of the decade.
The album also featured collaborations with Christian music icons Steven Curtis Chapman, Cheryl White, and Ricky Skaggs himself, while showcasing beloved hymns including "Come Thou Fount," "Sheltered in the Arms of God," and Chris Rice's "Untitled Hymn (Come to Jesus)." Original songs such as "Beautiful Messes," "Safe Haven," and the title track demonstrated the Scott family's ability to blend authentic storytelling with timeless faith.
