The Hobbit 3 Latest News: The Hobbit 3 Release Date Set for December 2014

Thus says Bilbo Baggins in the opening sequence of The Hobbit 3 trailer.
Along with the trailer comes The Hobbit 3 release date: the final installment of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy will be out in theaters on December 17, 2014. The film was originally set for a July 2014 release.
Here's the synopsis according to the movie's official Facebook account:
"'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and the Company of Dwarves. Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug, the Company has unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world. Enraged, Smaug rains his fiery wrath down upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town."
"The Hobbit: the Battle of the Five Armies" cast will have familiar faces: Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, and Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield. Lee Pace and Orlando Bloom will also be back as the father and son Thranduil and Legolas.
In an interview, Bloom says fans can expect "The Hobbit 3" plot to focus on the relationship between Thranduil and Legolas.
"The Hobbit" films are based on the novel "The Hobbit" written by J. R. R. Tolkien in 1937. The first in the series, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," was released in 2012, followed by "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" in 2013. These movies earned a combined $2 billion at the global box office.
