Meghan Markle is in early discussions to join a potential third season of Guy Ritchie's Netflix drama The Gentlemen, according to multiple outlets including CNN, PEOPLE, and Deadline. If it happens, it would mark her first scripted acting role since leaving Suits in 2017.
A source close to the talks told CNN that while conversations are ongoing, "no deal is in place," and Netflix has not yet renewed the show for a third season. The second season, which does not include Meghan, premieres September 3. No character has been written for her yet - The Hollywood Reporter notes any potential role "is currently being written," so the size of the part remains unclear.
Since stepping back from acting in 2018, Meghan's screen work has stayed largely unscripted: the documentary Harry & Meghan, the lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, and the Archetypes podcast, all produced under she and Prince Harry's first-look deal with Netflix. She also made a brief cameo in Amazon MGM's Close Personal Friends and appeared as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia.
The Gentlemen films in the UK - notable timing, given widespread reporting that the Sussexes are preparing to relocate their family back to Britain. Whether the two moves are connected has not been confirmed by any party involved.
For now, Meghan's involvement depends on two things still up in the air: a season three renewal, and where those early conversations with Ritchie's team ultimately land.
As the family's next chapter unfolds on both sides of the Atlantic, many who've followed their journey continue to hope it includes real reconciliation, not just a change of address.
