Nicole C. Mullen has dropped a mysterious new teaser-and it appears that something connected to her signature song "Redeemer" is about to return after 25 years.
"Something very special from 25 years ago is finally coming home," Mullen wrote on Instagram, adding hashtags referencing "Redeemer," "Let All Creation Testify" and the song's unforgettable declaration, "I know my Redeemer lives."
Mullen has not yet revealed precisely what is "coming home." The carefully worded teaser could point to archival footage, a restored video, an anniversary release or another piece of "Redeemer" history. Until Mullen makes the full announcement, however, speculation about recovered master recordings or music ownership remains unconfirmed.
What is certain is that "Redeemer" has become much more than an entry in Mullen's catalog. Released on her self-titled 2000 album, the soaring anthem grew from the biblical declaration in Job 19:25 and became one of contemporary Christian music's defining songs.
Mullen previously explained that the chorus came before the verses and became a personal reminder during uncertain seasons. Whatever else she did not understand, she could still cling to one life-defining truth: her Redeemer lives.
The song subsequently earned major recognition at the 2001 GMA Dove Awards. "Redeemer" was named Song of the Year, while Mullen became the first African American woman to receive the Dove Award for Songwriter of the Year. Its combination of theatrical pop, Gospel power and uncompromising Christian testimony has helped it endure across generations.
That history makes Mullen's reference to something "coming home" especially intriguing. The singer is not merely teasing the return of an old recording; she is reopening a chapter that helped establish her as one of Christian music's most distinctive voices.
Twenty-five years later, creation may be getting ready to testify all over again.
Mullen has promised a full video, but no release date or further details were included in the initial teaser. More information is expected from the singer's official Instagram account.
