Patrick Clancy and his pregnant wife, Rachel Danis, were photographed in Chicago on Saturday, the day before the Chicago Marathon, TMZ reported. The photos show the couple boarding the city's "L" train, with Rachel's baby bump visible and Patrick carrying a bag labeled for the race.
TMZ said it was unclear whether one or both of them planned to run. A spokesperson later confirmed that Patrick took part in the marathon, according to NewsNation.
The pregnancy is not new information. Patrick and Rachel told "60 Minutes" correspondent Ross Douthat on Sept. 20 that they are starting a family. Douthat later told "CBS Mornings" that the couple is already expecting, Gray News reported. No due date has been shared publicly.
Rachel is a fertility doctor based in New York. The couple married in April and have said they met through running in the city. She also supports Patrick's charity work, including The Heard Foundation, which he co-founded after the deaths of his children, Oxygen reported.
Patrick's three children, Cora, Dawson and Callan, died in January 2023. His ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy, was charged in connection with their deaths, and her murder trial ended in a mistrial on Sept. 4 after the jury deadlocked. Patrick has said he wants to tell his future children about their late siblings.
On "60 Minutes," Patrick also said he forgave Lindsay Clancy, a choice that many believers see as reflecting the grace at the center of the Christian faith.
