Second-unit crews were reportedly still filming in London around Oct. 11, even though principal production on The Batman Part II remains paused, according to ComicBookMovie. The outlet shared a new look at filming at a London tube station.
That does not mean the main shoot has resumed. Warner Bros. and DC Studios have not announced a restart, and second-unit activity does not confirm that director Matt Reeves has returned.
What is confirmed
- On Oct. 5, DC Studios said production was "temporarily paused while Matt Reeves focuses on a family matter," according to Deadline.
- The studio has not shared details about the family matter.
- The film's release date remains Feb. 18, 2028, and no new date has been announced.
- No replacement director has been named.
Why the release date matters
The sequel has moved several times. It was first set for October 2025, then October 2026, then October 2027, before landing on February 2028, according to Comic Basics. Deadline's sources said it is too early to know whether the pause will affect the current date.
Who is attached
Robert Pattinson returns as Bruce Wayne, joined by Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell. Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Brian Tyree Henry, Jayme Lawson, and Charles Dance are also in the cast, according to Empire.
What to watch next
Fans should look for an official announcement that main-unit filming has resumed, and for any change to the 2028 date.
