Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick helped his team win its first World Series title, and he has been open about the faith he brings onto the field.

The Brewers beat the Tampa Bay Rays four games to one on Oct. 28. In Game 2, Frelick tied the score with his first home run in three months, and the Brewers went on to a 5-4 comeback win.

Frelick wears a crucifix under his uniform shirt. He told the Catholic Herald he wants people to see it, that it isn't a fashion accessory, and that "I really want people to know that I have faith."

He served as an altar server at his parish for ten years, attended the Jesuit school Boston College and minored in theology. He credits his success in sports to gifts from God and prayer about how to use them. He also said he reads Bible verses and wants to be a good disciple on earth.

For fans, his story shows that devotion to faith and success on the field can go hand in hand.
