Could Neverland Open Its Gates Again? Michael Jackson’s Sons Reportedly Hope for a Charitable Future

Michael Jackson's sons Prince and Bigi reportedly hope Neverland Ranch can once again welcome sick and disadvantaged children, according to an unnamed family source cited by Page Six. Their reported wishes reopen a question about the property's future: how might its charitable purpose be preserved?

"They'd love to see the property preserved and used in a way that honors what Michael originally wanted it to be," the source said.

The brothers' attachment to Neverland reaches into their childhood. The estate was a family home, and the insider described its memories as an important part of their desire to see it preserved.

For Prince, the possibility of helping children also connects with work he has already undertaken. He co-founded Heal Los Angeles in 2016, and the source described a charitable role for Neverland as particularly meaningful to him. Bigi, meanwhile, reportedly favours protecting the property's privacy while supporting opportunities for children to experience it. Those preferences suggest that any future use would need to balance access with the family's personal connection to the grounds.

But affection does not confer authority over what happens next. Neither brother controls Neverland. Businessman Ron Burkle purchased the estate in 2020 for approximately $22 million.

Burkle's spokesperson told Page Six that the property remains a private residence and that charitable events are welcome. That leaves room for possibilities, although the statement falls short of announcing a reopening.

The distinction matters. Occasional charity gatherings, organised visits for children and regular public access would each give Neverland a different future. The brothers' reported hopes do not establish which, if any, will emerge.

For now, Neverland's next chapter remains unwritten. The report gives that uncertainty a human focus: two sons remembering their father's home and hoping that other children might someday find happiness there.
