Bonnie Tyler’s Final Recording Arrives; Song Ends With 4 Poignant Words: “To All, Good Night”

Bonnie Tyler's final recording will arrive this Christmas season with an ending that now carries an unexpected emotional weight. "Love, Light and Peace," due November 13, closes with the singer's spontaneous words: "To all, goodnight."

Her official team announced the release with a message acknowledging the absence behind the celebration: "Our first wish this Christmas would have been for Bonnie to be here to present this new song to you herself."

Recorded last winter, the track was written by Chrissie Hammond and Terry Britten and produced by Britten and David Mackay, according to the announcement. Tyler's team identifies it as the last song she ever recorded.

The release comes months after Tyler's death on July 8, 2026, aged 75. Her family announced that she had died unexpectedly in hospital in Portugal while receiving treatment for an illness.

What gives the recording particular poignancy is the distance between the circumstances in which it was made and those in which fans will hear it. A seasonal greeting recorded last winter will now reach listeners during the first Christmas following her death. There is no indication in the announcement that Tyler intended the session as a final farewell.

The song's journey also began with a Christmas gesture. According to The Sunday Times, Britten emailed it to Mackay in place of a conventional Christmas card. Mackay passed it to Tyler, who wanted to record it, although an immediate release was not planned. Her husband, Robert Sullivan, subsequently supported sharing the recording as a tribute.

For listeners who know Tyler through the force of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "Holding Out for a Hero," the new release offers another encounter with her unmistakable voice. Those hits helped establish the Welsh singer's international career; this recording brings attention to a quieter moment at the microphone.

Its closing words may be the detail that stays with listeners longest. An ad-lib preserves something beyond a written lyric: a choice Tyler made in the studio, in her own voice. Following her death, that brief Christmas sign-off takes on a meaning she could not have supplied deliberately for this release.

"Love, Light and Peace" arrives November 13, 2026. Fans can find the pre-save link through the biography on Bonnie Tyler's official Instagram account.
