Chris Tomlin releases his new Christmas album, "Good News of Great Joy (Christmas Songs of Worship)," this Friday, Nov. 6.
What is on the album? The 11-track project includes new songs "It's Christmas Time Again," the lead single, and "The Manger to the Cross." It also has a reimagined "Joy to the World (Unspeakable Joy)," plus a Christmas version of the Dove Award-nominated "Holy Forever."
Track list: 1. "Carol of the Bells," 2. "Good News of Great Joy," 3. "The Manger to the Cross," 4. "It's Christmas Time Again," 5. "The Angels Sing," 6. "Day of All Days" (with Terrian), 7. "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (Comfort and Joy)," 8. "Holy Forever (Christmas)," 9. "Joy to the World (Unspeakable Joy)," 10. "No Name Higher," 11. "The Hope."
Tomlin said the title points to the angels' announcement to the shepherds on the first Christmas night. He called the lead single "a bit out of the box for me" but said it sparked the rest of the album.
His children's book, Good News of Great Joy, arrives Nov. 10. It tells the first Christmas night through the story of a young shepherd.
The "Christmas With Chris Tomlin: Good News of Great Joy Tour" kicks off in Birmingham, Alabama. The Dec. 1 show sold out, so a Nov. 30 show was added. The tour also stops in Pensacola, Florida, on Dec. 4.
Tomlin has about 600 million global Christmas streams, which Capitol CMG says makes him the label's highest-streaming male Christmas artist.
JubileeCast wishes readers a Christmas season full of worship and good news of great joy.
