The success of the Insidious franchise has risen for the sequel to this 3rd movie. The film will have a different casting nonetheless. Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne won't be returning as the Lambert's. They will be replaced by Dermot Mulroney and Stefanie Scott, but not as the Lambert's. It has not been revealed yet as to what roles they will be playing. It has been said that Chapter 3 is a prequel to the first two movies. Now we can get a glimpse as to why Josh Lambert is haunted by these horrors and could answers our questions from the very first film.
Apart from Mulroney and Scott, Lin Shaye and Angus Sampson would be returning to reprise their roles. This film will be Leigh Whannell's directorial debut. He starred as Specs in the first two films and will serve as a screenwriter, director and reprise his role in this 3rd film.
According to Horrormovies.ca, the synopsis of the film would be: "A twisted new tale of terror begins for a teenage girl and her family, predating the haunting of the Lambert family in the earlier movies and revealing more mysteries of the otherworldly realm The Further."

The film is scheduled to be released on May 29, 2015, by Focus Features.
