The Samsung Gear VR headset is the latest addition to the line of devices that Samsung has been producing lately. The device will come together with the Samsung Note 4 which is yet to be released in October this year. The headset has caused a buzz online as the lovers and fanatics of technology were thrilled about it.

According to VentureBeat, the Samsung Gear VR headset will cost a staggering $199 and that is aside from the price that one will incur from buying its companion the Galaxy note 4 which has been rumoured to cost $799, or $299 with a contract. Oculus has also come out to say that the consumer version of the Rift Headset will retail at between $200 and $400. The Samsung Gear VR headset will be Oculus-powered but you can expect the sound quality from this device to be out of this world. The headset will also be wireless and powered by the phone.

The Samsung Gear VR headset will be available later this year as an Innovators edition. The reason for calling it and Innovators edition was explained in a blog post by Oculus saying, "It's an early-access, beta-version of the device for developers and enthusiasts rather than a final consumer product. Content creators can experiment and build totally new experiences while users explore the bleeding edge of mobile VR as it is being pioneered."

There has been no release date given for the Samsung Gear VR headset but it is expected to be released really soon. The anticipation grows ever stronger as leaks on features continue to circulate the web. When the Samsung Gear VR headset is launched we can expect to see some virtual reality experiences and games available.
