Transformers 5 Movie to Be Released in 2016; Director Michael Bay Backs Out, Cast Follows Suit; Megan Fox Returning? Michael Bay's Advice to Future Transformers Director
In spite of the previous movie gaining more money in the series so far, it seems like the upcoming Transformers 5 is up in the air at the moment, what with Michael Bay-who had directed the first four of the movie franchise thus far-reportedly backing out and explicitly stating that he neither has the time nor even the energy to direct and take full responsibility of the fifth one coming.
Along with this comes the unfortunate uncertainty when it comes to the Transformers 5 characters. Following the director's move, the cast seemed to follow suit. So far, Mark Wahlberg, one of the main stars in the fourth film, has confirmed that he will not be in the following installment as well. What we do not know for now is whether or not Shia LaBeouf will be returning to reprise his role. Megan Fox, who played Mikaela Banes in parts 1 and 2, notably expressed interest in playing a part in the Transformers 5.
Not much is known about the upcoming Transformers 5 at the moment, but it seems like Paramount Pictures is not worrying too much about it since the scheduled Transformers 5 release date is still around 2016. It is hard to imagine, however, the movie being finished on time since filming has not even started yet.
Although Michael Bay has confirmed his disinterest in directing the fifth film, he does, however, offer some advice to whoever's going to direct it next: figuring the whole thing out takes a lot of time, but you'll eventually get the hang of it.
