The new show centers on Walter O'Brien and his network of insanely smart team of geniuses. Together, they solve complex global problems of the modern age. Walter O'Brien has the fourth-highest documented IQ, and goes by the hacker name "Scorpion". As a team, the geniuses learn to help one another in becoming a productive unit to provide a greater benefit to society than they could individually.

As for the cast, Walter O'Brien is played by Elyes Gabel, who is previously known for his role in the Game of Thrones. His team of geniuses includes Happy Quinn (Jadyn Wong), Toby Curtis (Eddie Kaye Thomas), and Sylvester Dodd (Ari Stidham). Happy Quinn is their mechanical expert, Toby specializes in body language, and Sylvester is an expert in statistics. Meanwhile, Cabe Gallo (Robert Patrick from True Blood) is a federal agent who holds a keen interest in the genius group.

In the preview of the show, Katharine McPhee (of American Idol and Smash) enters the scene as Paige Dineen, whose young son is also apparently a genius, and they both help Walter and his experts better adjust to the world.

Scorpion, and its pilot episode, premieres Monday, September 22 at 9PM on CBS.
