Live by Night Movie Release Date, Reveals, Rumors, Plot and Updates: Ben Affleck and Leonardo Di Caprio Set to Produce Upcoming Gangster Flick
It has been quite a while since we all watched an old fashioned gangster movie. Well if all goes according to plan, then that is about to change. Coming to theatres on October 7th 2016 is the movie Live by Night. The movie is based on a book by the same name by Dennis Lehane. Warner Bros. have picked Ben Affleck to direct, write, produce and star in the movie. Mr. Affleck who is at now working with the same production house as Batman will have to find time in his busy schedule to bring this project to fruition.
The movie is set in 1926, the age of mobsters. A man is brought up by the very best standard by his police officer father but decides that he wants to become a mobster. He finds himself in the employ of the mobster Tim Hickey. Joe (our protagonist) does not know that the business h is running was once owned by his bosses rival. He meets a girl and falls in love. Like all criminals at some point in their lives Joe is sent to jail and his girl, Emma, is involved in an accident and is thought dead. When in prison his boss asks an old friend to protect him but the strains lead this gentleman to have a fatal heart attack. Joe leaves prison and instead of being reformed he is sent to Tampa Florida to run the family business which he turns into a money mill. He meets a new girl there with whom he has a baby and becomes a family man. Is wife is later shot and killed and he meets Emma again who has become a prostitute but he does not re unite with her.
The story is not as intense as The Departed or Gangs of New York but it is a good story nonetheless. Leonardo Di Caprio and Jenifer Davisson are set to produce the movie with Sienna Miller taking up the role of Emma Gould and Zoë Saldana taking up the role with Graciella Suarez.
