Gone Girl: A Must-Watch Movie this October 2014, Movie Plot, Review, Cast and Release Date
Gone Girl is soon coming to the big screens this October 3. The film is directed by David Fincher and written by Gillian Flynn, who also wrote the novel that this film is based from. Recent reviews reveal that the film adaptation of the novel is really good.
The movie plot is described as, "With his wife's disappearance having become the focus of an intense media circus, a man sees the spotlight turned on him when it's suspected that he may not be innocent". In the movie, Amy Dunne disappears in the morning of their fifth anniversary, and investigations on her case later turns to her husband Nick. Nick Dunne was previously a writer for a men's magazine in New York, but had to move back to Missouri after losing his job. It turns out that there's more to Amy Dunne's disappearance.
It is said that the film is different from the novel that it's based from, making major changes to the storyline, and introducing new elements to the novel's film adaptation.
One review reports that there is only one thing that remained faithful to the novel, and that's the ending. Yet, another review reports that the film remained "extremely faithful" to the novel stating, "Despite published reports that major plot changes were being made, particularly in the third act, this simply isn't true; it's an extremely faithful adaptation of what is ultimately a withering critique of the dynamics of marriage", and several other reviews support similar claim.
Nonetheless, the film and its cast performance are generally well-praised, and many reviews lean towards commending the film as a must-watch movie of this year.
The film cast includes Ben Affleck (as Nick Dunne), Rosamund Pike (as Amy Elliott-Dunne), Tyler Perry (as Tanner Bolt), Neil Patrick Harris (Desi Collings), and Carrie Coon (Margo Dunne).
Gone Girl premieres October 3, 2014, brought to you by 20th Century Fox.
