The Tournament is set to be hosted by 15 Gamespot stores across the United States (and the Nintendo World Store in New York City) just a day after the Super Smash Bros 3DS is launched on Saturday 4th. The game is set to feature three rounds of four-player battles.

To join the Tournament, no pre-registration is required but the game will limit up to 64 players in local tournaments and to be fair, the gaming company, Nintendo has decided to choose players on the first come first serve basis. One can bring his/her own 3Ds or 2DS copy of super smash Bros. but it's all not necessary as systems and games will be on hand. This means that all that one has to do is get up early and make it to the gaming places on time not to miss out on the chance to game.

Winners from the 16 gaming tournaments will earn a chance to join in the national open Championship Super Smash Bros. 3DS which will take place at the Nintendo World store on October 11th. They will be given a fully expense paid trip to New York City and each will receive a hotel accommodation for two while in New York. For winning the tournament each will be given a 3DS XL, a copy of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and a $250 visa gift card.

The tournaments are scheduled to begin at 11 AM local time on October 4th and the participating Gamespot stores will be listed on Nintendo's website. In addition Nintendo announced that anyone who visits Nintendo World Store in NYC can buy a copy of the game starting at 8 PM EDT on October 2nd as part of a special fan event.
